Video Streams - Interesting Documentaries Of The World

We have now added documentaries from excellent sources to highlight aspects of life in other countries and regions of the world.

These video streams should be of interest to the real travelers of the world as they highlight people and places that in most cases are areas where some will never go.  These videos will give an insight to things which we are mostly unaware even exist and as such it should enlighten those who take the time to view the streams.

One note, some of the video streams will not be available in certain countries such as the United States due to factors which are related to how the US and the associated web sites control their content.

  • In Bolivia there is a region known as the Yungas Valley.  It is a remote area in Bolivia where locals have invented a cable system to traverse between the two sides of a very deep gorge with a river running though the bottom of the valley.   • There is a road in Pakistan which is called Hell's Road and is considered one of the most dangerous roadways in the world. It begins in the city of Dir and traverses the 3000 meter Lowari Pass. The video features the truck drivers who must drive this road on a daily basis and confront some of the most treacherous road conditions including avalanches and countless hazards.   • Not many truly understand the history of the Nile River, its origins, importance to all the countries through which it flows, the regional conflict over water resources or how the counties thorough which it flows are effected by the Nile. This documentary provides an extremely in depth view of the people living along the Nile, historical accounts of the Nubian peoples removal from their lands and provides the viewer a context of the importance of this, the worlds longest river.   • There are areas of the world that are completely cut off from civilization due to their geographic locations. This documentary explores one such area which is located in the deep Amazon basin of Colombia and how people and goods are transported from the cities to these extremely remote parts of the country thanks to the daredevil pilots who fly into these areas.   • Follow one mans quest to walk alone from the Gulf of Suez to the Gulf of Aqaba through the Sinai Desert. This is a remarkable journey of an Italian man who walks day and night during Ramadan as he observes the Muslim traditions of fasting during this multi day trek.   • How do those in living in the driest places of Peru get water when they have no wells or water service?   • A lot of travelers come to Thailand and Bangkok is one of the top two visited cities in the world.  Those that come may wish to explore some of the interesting places which feature animals.  This expose documentary features some of the wildlife parks and shows the good as well as the bad side of these animal shows or sanctuaries.  The Thai government has laws which are designed to protect against illegal wildlife trade and exploitation of animals, however, even with these laws, the government seems to be unable to effectively do much.
