This page is dedicated to what I term as unusual but interesting web sites. Things you may never actually use but are extremely interesting and the general public is most likely unaware of the existence of these type of web sites or web data. We will add to this post as new and different web resources are discovered.
There is a web site which was recently cited in the online news which relates to air travel. The web site gives real time flight tracking data. In a review of the web site, I found it to be highly interesting as it shows all airborne aircraft across the globe and if you hover over an aircraft with your mouse pointer it will display the airline flight number, then a simple click on that aircraft symbol will open a window on the left side of the page providing all of the details about the flight. The web site name is very long so I will not cite its name but if you click here, another browser window will open to their web page. I found it very interesting to see the actual number of aircraft flying and if for no other reason than that I would encourage you to take a look. Zoom the map in or out, move the map around to the different regions and be amazed at the number of aircraft in the skies which must be monitored.
